As long as you are sheltered from the winds coming through the flatts then you are good to go with trachycarpus fortunei. So pretty much east of Sumas Road they are a no go without some protection from the wind. You must love all the sunshine down in San Antonio as compared to the Wack. That being said, on a sunny day, driving out to Chilliwack is majestic!!!Louishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06219272603726629982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-428399855033732471.post-49344973611247179582012-06-21T21:56:48.124-07:002012-06-21T21:56:48.124-07:00I think it would look swell hung on a palm trunk. ...I think it would look swell hung on a palm trunk. Get a wide piece of ribbon or thick twine and hang it like an Olympic metal from the top of your tallest palm trunk so it hangs part way down the side. Just an idea...danger gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09227500551609537140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-428399855033732471.post-44917876668156940242012-06-21T21:34:08.531-07:002012-06-21T21:34:08.531-07:00Hi Louis, love your wreath! You really grow palms in the fraser valley? Seriously? AMAZING! So nice to find your blog - looking forward to reading regularly. Cheers!Heather/xericstylehttp://www.xericstyle.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-428399855033732471.post-82170379031845460982012-06-21T13:23:41.753-07:002012-06-21T13:23:41.753-07:00thanks! I'm a big fan of vertical gardening - especially in urban settings. It would certainly soften the almost eerie evil empire feel of corporate office buildings. I could get on a whole rant but I truly believe that gardening can and should be a source of inspiration and innovation. I actually think all the horrendous commercial landscapes are manifestations of some of the larger problems our societies are facing. Like throwing inspiration/quality/thoughtfulness etc. out the window. I don't want to overstate things, but I think urban gardeners represent a kind of renaissance.Louishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06219272603726629982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-428399855033732471.post-91802067675661721152012-06-21T12:26:23.008-07:002012-06-21T12:26:23.008-07:00That wreath is nice...and so glad summer arrived. ...That wreath is nice...and so glad summer arrived. Quite the nice scent one cannot mistake for anything else! Now, think big and unlimited budget, as in a mega wreath with some dwarf palms and bromeliads in it, mounted on a massive blank wall of a corporate headquarters!Desert Dwellerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00952727692048782529noreply@blogger.com
